5 Types Of Heavy Equipment Used In Construction

Heavy equipment refers to heavy-duty vehicles specially designed to execute construction tasks. These machines are involved in earthwork operations or other large construction projects. Many types of heavy equipment are used in Dubai new construction projects. There are excavators, backhoe loaders, track loaders, and cold planers, to name a few. These vehicles play a vital supporting role on construction sites. They are used to move heavy materials quickly and safely across paved surfaces.

Excavators:

Heavy equipment like bulldozers, loaders, and excavators can be used for various tasks. These machines can move large amounts of material and can make 360-degree turns. They come in tracked and wheeled versions. Although they are large and heavy, they are indispensable for major construction projects. They can also remove vegetation and clear debris from construction sites.

Backhoe loaders:

Backhoe loaders are standard equipment for construction sites, with a loader on the front end. The operator operates both ends with different controls, rotating his chair to change between them. When he switches from one working end to the other, the front end of the loader is set down on the ground to stabilize it.

Cold planers:

Cold planers are versatile pieces of heavy equipment that can remove pavement in various ways. They can be either engine or hydraulic-powered attachments attached to the compact track or wheel loaders. They can also be manually operated and range in size from six to 12 inches deep. Many cold planers also have conveyor systems to remove the material.

Articulated trucks:

While a rigid hauler is an ideal option for large surface mines or big quarries with ample space and level surfaces, an articulated truck will be more suitable for a construction site with tight spaces and uneven terrain.

Pile boring machines:

Many types of heavy equipment are used in construction, and pile boring machines are one of them. These machines are reliable and ensure to completion of the task on time. Some other heavy-duty machines are tractor-like, and some are tracked. Excavators, for example, can be used to dig deep holes and are capable of a 360-degree turn.
